The Sonoma Green Business Program is a partnership of government agencies and utilities that assists, recognizes, and promotes local organizations that demonstrate a commitment to higher environmental performance. To be certified green, participants must be in compliance with all applicable environmental regulations and meet program standards for conserving resources, preventing pollution, and minimizing waste.

Athletes for a Fit Planet provides environmental consulting and onsite support to athletic events and races across North America and in the UK. In addition, they offer event organizers the Pledge of Sustainability and list their events in the Green Events Calendar. In 2012, they launched the Green Business Partner Program to provide companies that serve the event and athlete communities the opportunity to communicate their commitment to environmental sustainability and promote their products and services. Only qualified ‘green’ companies may participate in this program.
